Do you love planning a party? Have you got a flair for finding the perfect venue? Here on the lovemycourse editorial desk we love a wedding but can’t say we know the first thing about planning one. However if you think you’ve got what it takes you are in safe hands with us, as we know some people who can help. Have a browse of all the wedding planning courses listed on our site, and brace yourself for bridezillas, collapsing wedding cakes and these nine other problems only industry experts understand.
1. The wedding was due to start an hour ago and the bride is still AWOL.
As a wedding planner you will have a speech on hand to calm these last minute cold feet.
2. The photographer has got food poisoning and has let you down at the last minute.
Luckily you will have been in the industry long enough to make those all important contacts. In a matter of minutes you will have whipped out your little white book and will have a back up on call.
3. A guest has arrived with an uninvited plus one
(DO NOT be this guest – ever). Luckily the groom’s great aunt on table four hasn’t turned up, so with a few tweaks of the table plan everything is fine.
4. The couple have asked for a life-sized ice sculpture, at the last minute, in the middle of the summer.
Smile and nod – remember it’s their day!
5. Pet ring bearers...
This is not a film. Brian the family Labrador will not want to walk up the aisle and will leave a mess in the church.
6. Toddler ring bearers
Whilst we are on the subject, if you are lucky enough for a two year old to sit silently through the ceremony, do not expect them to also carry your rings calmly up the aisle.
7. The mother of the groom demanding to ‘make a few changes’ at the dress rehearsal
It’s fine, it’s not like you’ve spent months planning this or anything...
8. No, we do not dress like Jennifer Lopez in The Wedding Planner
High heels and a bodycon dress, for nine hours, whilst you lift chairs and carry catering equipment – yeah it doesn’t happen.
9. Red wine. White dress.
Depending on the stain you will know exactly what to do – white chalk, stain remover stick or carbonated water. Golden rule – dab, never rub.
If making someone else’s happily ever after sounds like your dream job, why not search for that wedding planner course? With wedding season just around the corner, what are you waiting for?
