Conversational language classes during the daytime are very popular, lively and sociable.

More vigorous exercisers have the opportunity to take up a Tap dance class or enrol to use the state of the art fitness gym suite, which is open to adults as part of the Community Education programme. All fitness classes are taught under the guidance of an experienced trainer.

Develop or improve artistic and creative talents in an Art For All, Life Drawing, Creative Writing, Knitting, Jewellery Making, Leathercraft or Floristry class or broaden your performance or musical talent in a Drama, Vocal Skills, Song-writing, Singing or Guitar group. Enjoy and discuss films from around the world in the Cinema class or develop your digital still or movie Photography skills. All this is on offer - see our prospectus.

Relax and explore different wines (complemented by delicious food) in a wine appreciation or "Know Your Wine" class presented by experts from the Wine and Food Academy - extremely popular term after term.

St Francis Xavier College has a reputation for high quality sixth form education. This tradition is now established in our community education programme. We bring the virtues of a smaller college, with its emphasis on quality – as reflected in our outstanding OFSTED inspections in April 2005 and June 2009 – and the personal touch, to adult education and lifelong learning.

Located around the corner from Clapham South underground station, SFX is ideally placed to offer opportunities for the development of work-related skills as well as general interest and leisure courses. We are sure you will find in this prospectus a course to meet your needs or interest.

Our evening class programme was endorsed in November 2009 through an observation visit by an experienced OfSTED inspector who concluded her report with this comment.

"Overall, walking around the college and experiencing several classes I was impressed by the sense of purposeful and very enjoyable learning. It was a pleasure to be here."
