LCCM is an independent college for creative people, offering short courses and degrees in music, writing, software engineering and entrepreneurship.

Overview

LCCM is a specialist higher education college. This means we focus on a specific range of related subjects. Because our degrees are designed and run by leading figures from the music, publishing and software industries, when you choose to study at LCCM you can expect to leave well equipped for graduate level work in or beyond the creative industries.

Music students can study bass, composition, drums, flute, guitar, piano and keyboard, production, saxophone, songwriting, trombone, trumpet and vocals. LCCM music courses focus on all forms of popular music, from rock and pop, R&B, soul, funk, reggae, jazz and blues to latin, world and electronic music.

All courses at the institution are practical and based around creating actual work. For music students, this means that all gigs are held in real London venues, whilst all musical arrangements and compositions are performed by guest string quartets, horn sections and Big Bands.

City Life

LCCM is based at the heart of a vibrant live music scene in London’s increasingly creative Bankside. The college is also just a short walk from the concert halls and theatres of the South Bank, Borough Market and a short tube ride from London’s Tech City, giving students endless inspiration and ways to further develop their skills and practical experience.

History & Academic Strength

Founded by professional musicians in 2003, we have attracted students from across the world, helping them to prepare for a life in music – as artists, managers, musicians, songwriters, producers, professional writers, music executives, composers, arrangers and musical directors.

With a reputation for nurturing creative talent, we have successfully bridged the gap between traditional universities, conservatoires and rock and pop schools, by combining the best elements of all three into a modern centre for artistic, creative and academic excellence.

Now we offer the same personalised and collaborative learning environment to aspiring music executives, writers and creative entrepreneurs based in the Music Box, our purpose-built creative campus in the heart of London, SE1.
