What is the AAT Access course?

Syllabus for the AAT Access course
The AAT Introductory Award in Accounting Qualification (AAT Access) is designed to give you an introduction to the accounting profession and an understanding of the essential skills required to work as an accountant.

Career path for the AAT Access qualification
The AAT Access qualification is your introduction to the world of accounting. With this qualification on your CV, employers will know that you are familiar with basic accounting concepts and that you are serious about pursuing a career in accounting.
This course is the first step in the full AAT pathway. The next course is the Foundation Certificate in Accounting (Level 2), which progresses on to Levels 3 and 4. Once you complete the full pathway, you will have in-depth knowledge of advanced accounting processes and will also be eligible to become a full AAT Member (MAAT).
As this is a beginner level course there are no formal academic or work experience requirements. If you are unsure which level is right for you, the AAT offer a Skillcheck test. The following entry requirements apply: You must be over the age of 18 or have a third-party payee for any financial agreement You must have a solid grasp of the English language (IELTS 5.5 or equivalent if English is not your first language) You must have access to a computer or other internet enabled device and a reliable Internet connection, plus basic computer skills You must be able to attend all exams at an AAT Approved centre.
